The rise in cases is attributed to waning immunity and the emergence of new variants. The situation is concerning as schools begin to reopen, providing ample opportunities for the virus to spread. According to experts, the updated shots from Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax are expected to be ready in the coming weeks.
