Sheetz slashes gas price by 50% to $1.776 per gallon. But only for one day

A convenience store on the East Coast is offering gasoline at a patriotic rate for just one day.
Sheetz is selling gas at $1.776 per gallon on July 4th, to honor the year that the Declaration of Independence signed. Promotion began at 12:01 am. The promotion began at 12:01 a.m. ET on Tuesday, and drivers can save up to 50% off the usual pump price.
The gas will last as long as you need it to. The promotion is valid for all fuel grades, including regular, E85, Unleaded 88 and mid-grade. This deal does not apply to Ethanol Free or Diesel fuel.
Travis Sheetz is the president and CEO at Sheetz. He said that this discount will 'help our customers to keep a bit more money in their pockets as they travel for the Fourth of July.
Gas prices are down significantly compared to the previous year for 43.2 million Americans who will be traveling this holiday season. According to AAA, the national average price for regular gasoline fell to $3.55 per gallon on Thursday, down from $4.87 per gallon one year earlier.
On July 4, the national average dropped even further to $3.53 per gallon.
This is fantastic. Gas prices are an important economic indicator for most Americans, said Patrick De Haan last week, the head of petroleum analyses at GasBuddy.
In November last year, Sheetz reduced Unleaded 88's price to $1.99 per gallon in limited stores over the Thanksgiving Holiday Week.
Sheetz operates more than 675 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Ohio, North Carolina Virginia, West Virginia, and West Virginia.
