The latest on the Trump indictment in classified documents probe
Trump has been indicted in the Justice Department investigation into the misuse of classified documents.

The White House has declined to comment on the reports that Donald Trump, former president, was indicted.
White House spokesperson Ian Sams declined comment and referred questions to the Justice Department, which, he said: "conducts criminal investigations in an independent manner."
The White House has refused to comment on ongoing investigations or legal actions. This is especially true for those that come out of the Department of Justice. President Joe Biden upholds its independence.
Biden reaffirmed this very notion when asked earlier Thursday what he would say to Americans in order to convince them they should have faith in the fairness and independence of the Justice Department.
You'll see that I never, ever, have suggested to the Justice Department how they should proceed or not proceed in bringing charges. Biden stated, 'I'm honest.'
