Jenny LaBaw, a former CrossFit competitor, faced a turning point in her life when she revealed her epilepsy diagnosis. In 2011, she surprised many by placing sixth in the Reebok CrossFit Games. However, she had been hiding her condition, feeling afraid of the stigma associated with epilepsy. Encouraged by her boyfriend, she decided to share her truth in 2012. Since then, LaBaw has been determined to help others with epilepsy. She embarked on a 500-mile run to raise funds for the Epilepsy Foundation of America, with a goal of $50,000.
